In the beginning, just before our first concert with the “time must have a stop” tracks, we wanted to explain and sort out the “genre problem” – back then, we decided on ‘experimental metal’ – being too atmospheric for ‘just’ metal, while remaining too aggressive and not technical enough for prog. However, soon after those first gigs there were numerous attempts on the part of others to categorize our music, which mostly ended up with tagging our music as Progressive Metal… [>]

Прогрессив-метал часто воспринимается через призму позднего Дремучего Театра с его инструментальными экзерсисами и соло на 8 минут. Ничего не хочу сказать плохого об этой группе, их альбом Images and Words прекрасен. И этого достаточно )) Итак.

Andromeda  - это такая очень клевая прог-метал группа из Швеции. Мне посчастливилось побывать на их выступлении в Москве. Ощущения были просто потрясающие. Песня Inner Circle:

Kiko Loureiro - гитарист бразильской группы Angra , которые примерно с 2006 года начали играть очень интересную смесь прогрессива с павером. В этом 2010 году ожидается выпуск их нового альбома. Это должно быть что-то особенное, я думаю ) Видео ниже - клип Dilemma, сольная работа Kiko. Редкое сочетание виртуозной исполнительской техники и музыкальности.

В заключении, Nick Barrett и Clive Nolan, лидеры британских неопрог-рок команд Pendragon  и Arena  соответственно, исполняют невероятно чудесную песню Paintbox.
